EFAS IS BUILDING A PORTFOLIO OF FELLOWSHIP HOST INSTITUTIONS, BE PART OF IT!

EFAS Fellowship Committee is currently working to establish an EFAS Portfolio of European Foot and Ankle Fellowship Host Institutions in trusted centers across Europe. Upon sourcing and validation, these centers will be included in the EFAS list of approved F&A fellowship centers for our members to apply. Be part of building EFAS Fellowships Portfolio!

We invite EFAS members to review the criteria for the host institutions below and share with us (EFASoffice@mci-group.com) a filled form, with details of the centers you wish to propose for this opporutnity.

CRITERIA FOR THE EFAS EUROPEAN FELLOWSHIP HOST INSTITUTIONS PORTFOLIO

Host institutions eligible for a European Foot and Ankle Fellowship must ensure provision of supervised training for at least 6 months or more with surgical practice and consultation of outpatients, which constitutes at least two clinics and at least three theatre sessions per week.

Fellows must be assigned to a lead supervisor, a member of EFAS, and be part of a multi-disciplinary team which meets on regular basis (at least once a week).

The overall guiding purpose of the fellowship should be creating quality training and lasting mentorship bonds and networks of fellows to be, past fellows and mentors.

The fellowship hosting center must be in Europe, provide at least 15 days/6months number of days in study leave, access to a research clinic and dedicated time for research or audit. At the end of the fellowship period, a clear evaluation mechanism for both fellow and the supervisor must be established to reflect on the progress and the outcomes of the visit. Moreover, an open feedback channel must be maintained throughout the duration of the fellowship. Finally, upon successful completion of the fellowship, the hosting institution must issue an adequate certificate, specifying content focus and practical aspects of the fellowship.
