1. You have been voted a President-Elect at the past GA, and you have also served several terms on the Council. What motivated you to apply for this new role?

EFAS has always been a special society for me and is close to my heart. I have been on Council since 2008, subsequently Treasurer and Secretary. I was encouraged to apply to be President because of the support from other Council members and the Executive. It is a role that I always wanted to have.

2. What is your best memory from being on the EFAS Council?

It is always difficult to pick out a special moment. There have been so many. When I was first elected to Council in Vilamoura was a highlight as was my election to Treasurer, Secretary and then President but I would have to choose the very first Certification exam as my special moment. It was the culmination of a lot of hard work and discussion across Council and the Executive before final fruition. I shall never forget it.

3. How do you see the future for EFAS?

In the future, I see EFAS as a vibrant, modern and progressive Society leading the world in the development, training and education of Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgery. EFAS is an independent group best positioned to provide direction and vision to achieve these aims. I should like to lead the Society into the future developing a sound strategy to support these aims.
