Introduction Yves Tourné
Thursday 9 April 2020
In this time of quarantine, due to this terrible COVID-19 breakdown, communication with you, members of the foot addict community of EFAS, is more than restricted.
Social distancing, masks, gloves and all those mandatory physical barriers designed to tackle COVID19, could lead to isolation and introspection.
But although adapting to adverse conditions brings out the worst in some, it also can bring out the best of man. ‘Necessity is the mother of invention’
We have to remain united and as positive as possible in these difficult times, and those that we will have to inevitably face in the near future!
On behalf of EFAS community members, the Council of EFAS is trying to maintain this link between all of us, which is so important in helping to avoid this isolationism.
Technology helps us to do so, thanks to the EFAS website, the regular newsletters, many social media posts and (coming soon), Webinars!
Many testimonies from colleagues will express how harrowing, at this present time, the daily life of orthopedic surgeons in Europe, is. Other topics too, will be covered in this newsletter.
My sincere thank you to the members of EFAS Council and the Committees of EFAS that work hard to meet the high level of expectations of the EFAS community.
My thanks and appreciation too, to the EFAS secretariat members of MCO, that make this work and tasks possible.
All my best wishes and good health to all of you and your families.
Be protected, stay home, take care.
Hope to see you after the ‘war’.
President of EFAS
